Looking into Pumpkin Patches today. Anyone with suggestions of places they like in the area -- please please send them my way! We want to continue trying new places and taking festive fall pictures every year. We set aside Oct 26th for fall fun.
Today our actual wedding invitations are starting to print. We worked through a company in India. Good Lord Almighty. I can't handle how many revisions we had to go through and how many mistakes they keep making. I'm just hoping we get the semi-correct invitations at this point.
For indian weddings, there is a separate invitation for the groom's side and the bride's side -- mainly because we have a separate religious ceremony the day before the wedding ceremony.
Once they're delivered, I'll be sending mine out.
Sketchy's family does this thing where all the uncles come over and handwrite the names of the invitees on the actual cards in red pen. They'll be doing that at the beginning of Nov so that the cards can be sent out mid-Nov with RSVPs expected in early Dec.
Finalizing things with our wedding planner and caterer this week as well. Our wedding planner/designer/set-up person has been pretty awesome. She's been really receptive to using pinterest so that i can show her the visions. She's been able to make a lot of items happen. I'm really excited about the hanging cake which is very do-able! In the event we don't do a hanging cake, we'll have it sit on a wine barrel (equally as amazing to me!).
Getting the Sarees for the BMs to the tailor this week or sending to girls who will do it themselves. Things are coming together which is make me a happy camper. =)
Sketchy needs to get the guys situated with their groomsmen outfits for both days and then i think we're basically done with everything except the cake!
Cake:
I'm not a fan of fondant at all. I really like 'textured' cakes because there aren't lines or designs that can be messed up! I've always been a fan of curvy/crooked letters done on purpose for posters and projects just because i always knew i'd get upset if letters weren't straight lol. I also tend to think that textured cakes look more vintage.
and then i like ombre, maybe in a light teal with a large pink/beachy flower on top. something super simple.

teal ombre like this maybe.
or this light pink
Gonna start doing a few date nights in the coming weeks to balance out how much time sketchy's been putting into wedding stuff. =) First on the list is The Vantage Point Restaurant found on the 17th floor of a building in Rosslyn. It overlooks the potomac and georgetown area. Exciticus!
Happy Hump Day folks!
