Tonight we grabbed a cheese pizza (day 2 of veggie lifestyle and no soda) and redbox movie -- This is the End. I had heard the movie was really funny. It was what is to be expected by that particular cast. There were lots of guest appearances which was cool. The whole movie is a cluster. I still can't decided if i wasted life and brain cells, but the last 5 minutes of the movie might have been completely worth it lol.
We also got our save-the-dates today. On first impression I was pretty disappointed, but c'est la vie. We've had quite the experience with this save-the-date.
save-the-date disasters:
1. sketchy's jersey was delivered to the wrong house. It took us just under a week to track it down. First FedEx took a couple days to figure out what they did with it, then once we figured out where they dropped it off we stalked those people for a few days until we finally caught them at home!
except it's FedEx. Always FedEx.
Note to people: it is common courtesy to walk a box over to a neighbor if it was delivered to you. OR it is common courtesy to give back to FedEx man or the local FedEx store to get the package to the right person. do not just sit on a package that is not yours!
2. we went to cliff to take pictures. my camera was about dead so we could only get in a couple pictures. but my camera battery didn't die before my actual camera did. sigh. my beloved camera was sitting on a tripod about 3-4 feet off the ground. the cliff is not exactly the most leveled surface ever. poor camera nose dived onto ground. the lens is totally bent -- this is why i haven't been taking pics with nice camera for the past couple months. =( need to get a new lens.
mine didn't crack like this, just bent up. sadtown.
3. after choosing a picture (from the limited photographs we got at the cliff) and editing it to read as we wanted, we tried three separate companies that make magnets. the magnet sizes did not work with our photo size so all of the proofs were crazy, blurred, stretched out or just cut off! also we couldn't find a company that did normal sized (4x6) magnets that allowed you to create your own. so finally we found a fourth place. it had large magnets and our photograph magically fit. they also said only a week for production and delivery. was so happy.
print fail?
4. we never got a proof after payment... was concernicus. upon delivery:
- there is some crazy white border around the picture that was not on the template i submitted.
- there is no real finish to the magnet -- it's not glossy or matte. just kind rough? lol
- finally, the picture is much darker. one of the reasons i loved the picture was because of all the summer bright colors. made the photograph happier!
To make myself feel better, i looked up save-the-date fails, lol.
anyways, it's got a crazy white border, no real finish and is pretty dark but it's the right size and a functional magnet. so we sent them out. the whole experience is just comical to us at this point. at least we still have the actual photograph to frame and/or do something nice with in the house.
I'll post a picture of the save-the-date in about a week once i start hearing that people have received it.
For now, here are some random fun pics we took that weren't used.
