Okay so, originally we were looking at lots of buffets and bars on overstock, amazon and various furniture stores. They were all pretty expensive, cheapest being around 250.00. Nothing we really loved.
examples were like this (this one was actually retailed at 500.00):
We were then going to build a bar which was going to take time because we needed to buy the wood and set aside some time (which seems like something we never have enough of lately!). Then Amanda decided to up and move from DC onto Dallas for much bigger and better things. She was getting rid of furniture, so i jumped on the opportunity for her hutch!
it's the entire thing, top and bottom. It comes apart.
we took it apart and i spray painted both pieces. half done.
all done but still wet! this is just the bottom part.
dried. think it looks really awesome and so perfect in size and look! I'd say it's pretty comparable to many of the buffets we saw and only cost 20.00 + spray paint!
We're going to move all the liquor from the bookshelf onto this bar and then move the bookshelf upstairs to become the 'shrine' of all our things since the upstairs sofa table has become the designated "mantle" where all festive decorations will go!
Will need to take a final picture once we put the two pieces together and make it the bar. We also realized that the two pieces could serve as two buffets since the top part can sit on the ground and act as a sofa table/buffet as well!
