Bar Complete, Mexican Pizzas, and the Best Scrapbook EVER.

Sooo much to talk about from this weekend, but like the bachelorette party, the bridal shower post will have to come later. In true Nalini fashion, i couldn't find my phone before the shower began to take pictures. I found my actual camera but the SD card was missing. fails all over the place. Anyways, going to have to wait til i have all the pictures from folks before i can write the post the event deserves!

Let's rewind to Friday. Friday night Dorsa and I picked Kaitlin up from DCA. We then went shopping and finished just in time to grab Sam from the Metro. We hung out a bit at the house once we got back and then Dorsa headed home. Kaitlin made her spinach dip and I made the sangria (should have made it Thursday night). Kaitlin went to bed and Sam and I stayed up for a bit talking way too late into the night but it was really nice catching up with her!

Friday we also set up the new bar!

before

after. complete in all its glory! I love the four shelves on top. There are margarita glasses (kate's engagement present), martini glasses, wine glasses and scotch glasses!

some of you might remember that we used this bookshelf as the former bar. Moved it upstairs and now it's the 'nalini&sketchy shrine' since the sofa table upstairs has now become the 'festive counter space' for seasonal decor! I like this in this space.

here was the bar during the bridal shower. pinkified. i think i like the wine bottles on top better than the random bottles. can put those bottles on the shelves below i think.

mimosa and sangria bar!

mimosa/sangria bar

sangria in mason jars with pink and teal straws!! =)

Saturday was the Bridal Shower which was just perfect. It was low-key and comfortable. There were tons of pretty pink and teal items, lots of buffalo and other very nalini-esque foods and lots of fun games! Everything flowed really well and there was not a single ounce of stress at any point. I simply cannot be happier with the way the last two wedding events turned out and hope that my posts (to come) truly convey how thankful i am for everything everyone did! =))

pretty and entertaining balloons. =)

One of the highlights of the bridal shower was a group gift. Dorsa, i believe, was the mastermind behind this present. Friends were asked to create a scrapbook page with whatever they wanted and then sent them to dorsa. She put it together to make one giant scrapbook of amazingness.

teal chevron. =))

Catherine's page. Hers was one of the two most touching. I can't even handle how eloquent, genuine and fricking sweet the message is!

Dorsa realized we have no pictures together. This became a common issue with a few people. Evidently I take tons of pics, but don't allow myself to be photographed.

Robbie's page. Superrr cute and very sweet. We can see that someone has scrapbooking experience.

Sam's page. Haha, we managed to take one picture together in our 6 years of knowing each other.

Diana's page was probably the most accurate depiction of my true loves and life. This page is so fun. I was thoroughly impressed that diana did crafts for me lol. Basically, this page makes me realize that our friendship is based on complete debauchery.

Lindsay's page -- super cute. note the top left pic. this pic makes an appearance on quite a few pages. it is a pretty epic picture though. Lindsay's page was a great balance of yesterday and today -- such old school pics in this page -- good memories!

Poor Kaitlin's page got a little messed up from the stupid crazy dc rain!
Kaitlin's page was an epic walk down memory lane! haha she seriously included some pictures i didn't even know existed they're so old. or maybe i tried to block them and the unibrow/mustache out! the captions are great. lmao my favorite is probably the very center bottom row. we are both ridiculously young and ooc looking. she's giving me the craziest face ever. i'm glad she kept these pictures. thank god for growing up and waxing. lol

melanie's page made me crack up. without seeing the middle picture i immediately knew whose page this was. i joke with her constantly that our friendship is solely based on food. i also really love that she has seriously included every single one of my favorite foods. I can't really think of anything that is missing! fried chicken, shake shack cheese fries, biryani, buffalo wings, spinach dip, lamb and mac and cheese! Also, the picture she used in the middle... lmao. diana is actually between us in that picture, so she cut her out and taped the picture back together. very good cut and paste job Melanie!

I think i realized on a closer look that Miriam hand drew the details on this page! second appearance of that epic picture. also eating a bag in the corner there. ooc things. lol haha like lindsay, we realized that miriam and i do not have enough pictures together either.

kristen's page! this is the other super touching page. I've actually been putting off reading cards from bridal shower still because i feel like they'll make me cry! lol this scrapbook was enough for tonight. Maybe i'll do a card each evening. I don't even know how i have so many pictures with kristen but they're all so good! lol. also note bottom right picture makes an appearance again.

Fal and Hetal's page. lmao. I love the picture in the bottom right. i really like the quote in the middle that says "family by chance, friends by choice."

There are a couple people who i knew wanted to make pages but just didn't get it done in time. I told them to just give them to me in January rather than trying to send via mail or anything crazy, but i'll definitely post them when i get them. =)

Just for funzies here's the pictures that kept appearing. These will def also show up in the bachelorette post to come.

i love selfies with things/people in the background so much.

everyone looked so good saturday night. =)

Sunday sketchy and I lounged on the couch and watched football with one dog on either side of us. It was the perfect lazy sunday. Sam went to a craft fair in Gaithersburg in the early afternoon. After watching my jags game almost to the end (had so much hope in that game! so proud of them!) Sam and I headed off to crystal city for dinner at Jaleo's. No pictures, good food and good conversation!

Tonight...

So everyone knows i've been complaining about wanting an electric can opener for some time now. I took that complaint public on fb and on the blog last week posting this picture of alllll the cans i had to open one at a time with a manual can opener for chili:

SO MANY CANS

So why not just buy an electric can opener? They're reasonably priced. Because sketchy downright refuses to purchase one on principal. He says it's unnecessary and ridiculous. =( So i snuck one on the registry (well i obviously told him about it) which he said was fine if other people wanted to buy us ridiculous things lol.

And so two fantastic people did for bridal shower. Dorsa and Diana both got us electric can openers lol. They were wrapped very similarly and ended up being really humorous. Dorsa included the gift receipt so hers is going back but put Diana's electric can opener to work today! Was super excited to use it lol.

Mexican pizza night.

it has a sneaky secret scissor in the back!

it also does that safe edge cutting thing! way more excited about this than i should be.

layer 1 uncooked.

post-grill.

complete. it's actually two layers but pics aren't that great.
