Sweatin' for the Weddin'

I love that phrase -- found it on pinterest on a shirt. We got a gym membership today at Planet Fitness. I really like the gym, lots of treadmills, wasn't too crowded at the time we'd be going and LOTS of machines! they also have unlimited fitness training which is cool so you can go for different kinds of classes (not the fun yoga/pilates/zumba but like strength training and cardio workouts and such).

They also had this which i thought was neat (all gyms probably have this but it's been a LONG time since i've been in a proper gym lol):


I've always loved weight training but with the bench and bar and needing a spotter it's just easier and more fun with another person. Enter sketchy. =) 

We started the couch to 5k plan. We did well -- wasn't a struggle bus at all which i thought it would be since i haven't run in FOREVER. We then spent a solid hour stretching, doing crunch type exercises and various machines!

We had a competition on the leg press to see who could leg press the most. Sketchy was convinced i was weak. I have really big legs but part of that is because i have big calf muscles and thigh muscles -- while they have deteriorated over the past two years, they're still somewhat there and i know i used to be a beast at weight training (i could def always do more than the avg girl). So I told sketchy he would not be able to do more than 30lbs more than me. We ended up at me 330lbs and him 350lbs as max. He was able to do more, but NOT by 30! 

Anyways, it was super fun actually and really motivating! we're going to do 3 days a week for the couch to 5k plan but then go 1 or 2 days extra for the unlimited training classes or just weight training!

oh and day 2: chicken salad on top of spinach, green beans, cabbage, and red onions with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette!
