Feeling very optimistic about August. So many good things to look forward to such as:
-Football starts (only pre-season but STILL)
-getting our yard done (hopefully)
-some better weather towards the end of the month?
-Sketchy's birthday!
Tonight we're heading back to Springfield. Taking Sapna and Sketchy's mom home with me so that we can just head out from Springfield to Baltimore -- shaves an hour off the drive. Her appointments are always so early, so we also have to worry about traffic.
Sketchy grilled some chicken and made a delicious dinner which was waiting for us when we got home! =) no pictures because i was just HANGRY. lol
Tonight we did some crafts which you've probably already seen on fb. Sketchy was very good and did not complain at all (and secretly i think he also enjoyed it!). His mom actually tried to participate a bit too.
project one was this: http://pinterest.com/pin/20055160813829916/
project one -- decorate wine glasses
sketchy made a simple orange and green -- thought it came out really cute!
These glasses reminded me of an item i had seen at crate and barrel and LOVED but is no longer available. Now i know i can totally DIY it for muchhhh cheaper.
crate and barrel item.
mine.
his.
Project two was making these little wall decoration things. We don't have any decor in any of the rooms yet so thought this would be nice. Just cork board covered in fabric. Super simple and pretty and was fun to make!
love these neutral colors.
PRETTY!
So i did this thing throughout life and college. I bought all these random little candles/sconces/frames/kitchen items/nicer bathroom things and other various decoration things that i knew i'd be able to use in a house one day. It was nice to unpack and use those items when we got the house. A lot of them could be from vacations and have a story behind them. I'm big on having items that have a story behind them or were hand crafted by either me or local artists!
I'm going to start this for baby things. So when the time comes, we have all these little cute things/outfits we've seen along the way either on vacation or things we've made along the way! I mention this because i feel like project two above is very nursery-esque. I know that I won't want to know the gender of the baby so nursery will be very gender neutral much alike the colors of the fabric above. I feel like these circle things would be amazing to have three of them (maybe in the gray chevron) with black wooden letters of initials on them above the crib! I know i like making a lot of things but maybe i'll be lazy and bad at getting things done (even more than now) when i'm preggers so it'll also be nice to have some of the items already made and the things can be used for decor right now still! =)
