Easter Weekend Recap

Friday was really fun. We drank our way through chinatown from La Tasca, to Zengo to Bar Louie. We were really tired by the time we finished dinner at Bar Louie so we ended up heading home instead of going to a movie as originally planned. The day was really relaxing and also tastey!

Kaitlin had never been to La Tasca in all the times she's visited. I also know she likes rum so I figured she'd really like some of Zengo's happy hour cocktails. They, hands down, have the best mojito I've ever had -- and that means something because I don't like mojitos at all! It turned out to be a success!

Saturday we had breakfast at the house and then headed out to the city. Despite the lack of cherry blossoms, the city was crawling with tourists! Saturday was the first nice weathered weekend we've had so it makes sense that everyone and their mother was in the city. We took a tour around the city in the car and spent a solid 1.5 hours looking for parking! We finally found a spot, took a couple pictures of cherry blossoms and then went to grab food at Chef Geoff's in Metro Center!

James got introduced to the Supermug Beers. This was probably the happiest I had seen him all weekend!

Then we headed back home to get ready for the cocktail party. People started showing up right at 6. There were sooo many different mixers and liquors to choose from!

What I learned was that if you add grenadine or regular simple syrup to anything, it makes it delicious! Also that blood orange canned stuff was really good.

I made AJ make all my drinks with a shaker -- I love when people shake the shakers! Every drink I had and tasted was really good, except for one. Diana made something that was ooc -- not sure what she put in there! I liked that everyone's drink was different and really there was no bad combination!

I wish I had remembered some of the combos and/or taken pictures. My favorite of the infused liquors was the grapefruit vodka. I also used the lemon/lime gin in a lot of drinks.

Once people started clearing out we ordered some pizza and then blasted good ol' 90s and random music. We basically turned the cocktail party into a karaoke/dance party. One of the most fun nights I've had!

Then after the dancing we had a drunken easter egg hunt. Diana found 7 eggs (she helped HIDE THEM), James found 9, Sketchy found 10 and Brenna found 22 or something like that. Brenna was a ninja.

Kaitlin found this amazingness. Pumpkin Pie liqueur. It tasted like straight pumpkin pie! The bottle was only 10.00 too!

The aftermath. Success = no broken glasses throughout the course of the evening!

Sunday we headed down to Sketchy's parents since they were both home for Easter.

Yet another successful Weekend!
