DC is between the 5-8" and 8-12" range on this map.
Springfield is a little south west of that and seems to be in the 8-12 range.
BUT. in the event there is an actual snow day, we've prepared. Remember this (taken from june 14 sickly sue post. i guess that was a hurricane?):
we opened all 100 of these flashlights up in case we lose electricity and we're charging all our things (not that it really matters since all of my electronics go from 100% to 2% in 2 seconds).
After realizing that f o u r different places (walmart, giant, kmart and home depot) were completely out of snow salt, I gave up and headed to the library. Got a fairfax library card and checked out all the books! Last week i read an entire book by reading a little before bed everyday. It was so satisfying to read again!
all ridiculous and purely for entertainment
I think i'll start getting some nonfiction books on things of interest. maybe photography and cameras or fun places to travel in the united states. I also have the book on all the major college and nfl football stadiums i got from sketchy for xmas to read!
Before dinner we stopped by Dorsa and Erik's to pick up part 1 of 2 of their wedding gift. It was actually really funny and very practical and appreciated. They got us this:
yes a folding table.
We have two of our own but one is my craft room table and the other is usually used as the food table or extended bar (which is becoming even more a thing with the new kegerator thing we got as another wedding gift. our bar is overflowing even after i got rid of all the empty bottles. sigh) We usually need the third table for more food or beer games (no event at our house is a real event unless there are games). We've been borrowing their folding table for basically the past year -- engagement after party, birthday after winery tour party, christmas party and multiple tailgates at football games. annnddd we've been returning it months late or when they need it for their next event. I thought about registering for all the entertaining dishes but forgot the biggest thing for our entertaining needs. Now we're self sufficient people thanks to Erik and Dorsa.
Will come in handy for our upcoming beerolympics event!
This is a neat concept and super user friendly. You select how many in your party, and the date you'd like to dine and then a list of top restaurants in your area with discounts ranging from 20-35% off pop up. You simply make a reservation, pay nothing and the discount is taken off at the end of your dining experience.
Most of these restaurants would run two diners a total of anywhere from 50-100, so the savings are pretty legitimate (10.00-20.00 off the bill)
Currently, it's only available in these bigger cities:
We'll probably use it for one of our cheat nights in the next few weeks.
Also, sketchy has expressed interest in writing a blog post -- i can't even imagine what that's going to be like. But i hope you tune in to find out. Maybe he'll do one this upcoming week.
I'm taking over under bets on number of words. over/under 25 to sum up the whole day's events. =)
