Hump Day Productivity

Today was a super productive day. For the most part it was being productive in the wedding planning department.

I know I had been complaining a lot about not looking forward to wedding events and such. The whole having to make it meet parental and family standards vs having it be simple and more to our taste issue still apply. The expense part for items such as a dress you'll wear one time or a venue you'll only use once also still applies. I've found good solution to that though -- i'm becoming a huge fan of the recycled bride web site (tradesy). You're helping other brides who are trying to get back some sort of the cost of their dress and they're helping you out by selling you a dress for 1/2 the price but in basically perfect condition. Whereas I used to think I'd never wear a used dress and it had to be amazing and expensive and extravagant, i've learned that as you grow-up you start to prioritize expenses and such in a different way.

BUT the outside factors I was allowing to get me down and make me pretty much dread bridal shower, bachelorette party and wedding weekend in general have been hashed out. With a much more freeing, less stressful, less concern about others and better attitude towards these events, i'm now much more excited about these events in the way that i've wanted for the past year.

Productive things:

-Finalized an invite list for Save the Dates/Invitations
-Finalized Save the Date proof which is now in printing! Hopefully out by next week!
-Sent invitation template to india to be printed -- these won't be sent out til Nov though. we want RSVPs in Dec because that's when we'll need to know the exact number of ppl.
-Booked hotel in Philly this Friday, bought tickets to bridal shower for Sat morning with intensions of purchasing a dress this weekend whether at bridal show or the dress i've had my eye on for some time!
-Booked flight to florida for Sept 12-16 to meet with vendors, do some tastings, sign some contracts and get everything squared away with layout and design of venue spaces!
-Created an invite list for bridal shower as well as got to discuss the plan of action so i know things are underway and will be good by actual date (just a month away)! Also, think i have the majority of items bridal shower would require in craft room so makes me feel better to know that not a lot has to be purchased and/or people are not having to go too far out of their way! Super excited about the friends coming in from out of town for this and spending time with them!
-helped tie up the last tiny detail of bachelorette party with transportation -- bach party is now completely set and only a couple weeks away!
-finally baked fish! we've been talking about it for far too long.
-Re-set up the man cave/basement in preparation for football season [[TOMORROW!!!]]
-Made a list of things that still need to be done
-buy flight to florida in January
       -buy indian outfit
       -bridesmaids saris
       -bridal shower dress
       -bachelorette party outfit
-find a vendor to meet with about cake in Florida
-find a vendor for limo for days to venues/pictures
-buy bm shoes for reception day
-square up with everyone for houses rented in fl for mlk wkend
-find a gujarati pundit for sketchy's vidhi

Everything is coming together and hopefully after the florida trip every aspect is squared away. Will be good to enjoy the last couple months without being concerned about anything planning wise! This is honestly the first time in this year of planning that I've felt completely anxiety-free about any and every aspect of the next four months! =)
