First Football Sunday Recap!

Sunday was the much anticipated first football sunday of the year! When we were looking for houses, one of the main things we were looking for was a space where we could get multiple TVs so that when we had the NFL ticket we could watch multiple games and host sunday football at our place. We could avoid spending an entire day at a bar buying two-three meals and too many beers to count.

We found out after moving in that we were lied to and NFL ticket would not be available. But we found a way around that! I was so happy when we figured it out. We got all amped up by getting a couple more TVs and Saturday night Sketchy mounted them. =)

A while ago, i had designed what the wall would look like. I had seen a pretty awesome ikea setup at a kid's apartment so i looked into ikea items. Here was the rough draft:

We later realized that the background pieces were not going to work since our walls are cylinder blocks behind the drywall -- way too difficult to get that mounted. we haven't gotten side cabinets but don't think we want them, might close off the wall space that has some decor on it. for the most part, think we came pretty damn close. =)

i love it so so much. now just need the patio to look like the design i sketched. hopefully in a couple wks that will be all set for the bridal shower. we're just going to get a couple ppl to do it, just have to schedule! =))

i'm in love with the set-up. we're adding in a bar which i'm really excited about and a couple shelves on the last bare wall for our brewery pint glasses and growlers that we collect from various places!

we got some pumpkin/fall beers for the games.

some easy throw in the oven pizza.

and a lot of other unnecessarily ooc food items.

After the 1 o clock games we headed to melanie's place for her apartment warming. She got new furniture and a big girl TV. Her apartment looks awesome. She also made some crazy amazing food items!

homemade foccacia bread. this was as good as i hoped it'd be!

love the presentation of these sweet and sour meatballs.

gougeres. lol i have no idea how to spell that, but they were tastey as well!

some crazy brie and grape tart. dough was homemade for this too.

half of the spread

other half

the full presentation. was super classy.

We watched the 4 o clock games there. I took a nap in her little nook between the couch and wall.

Best first sunday of football season. =)

Alrighty, snapping back to the present, today i went down to fburg to hang out with Sapna. we did happy hour at Fridays and had good conversation. I also got to see lucy and charlie. It's been a couple weeks so that was super nice. I'm going to spend the night and head into work from fburg. That commute is going to be lovely, said no one ever.

1 more day 'til Florida!
