April Showers Bring May Posts

I'm surprised that I'm actually only 2.5 months behind. I finally added photos to all the posts I had in the drafts folder and posted (except the bachelorette wkend post because there are a lot, they take forever to load and i need to then put them in order).

It feels like I've missed half a year of posts. Maybe because the last couple months have been so very eventful. I've continued to take tons of pictures, but at this point 1/3 on sketchy's phone, 1/3 on my phone and 1/3 on my camera. I've been uploading randomly. The pictures are soooo very out of order.

In a nutshell all these things happened in the past 7 consecutive weekends:

-Diana's 27th birthday in AC
-Kaitlin's Bachelorette Party in Orlando
-Sketchy's mom's bday
-Kate visited town/Super successful wine and cheese event at the Patel house
-Cabin weekend in Luray
-Bridal shower and Bachelor parties for Kaitlin and James in Orlando/Ft. Lauderdale
-NFL Draft/NYC wkend.

Needless to say, I'm really excited about a week where we just stay home and do nothing. I want to blog and sort my pictures (esp since I have all the wedding photos to go through too! but told myself i'd get my regular photos in order before i get to the wedding photos). Beware: probably going to flood fb with albums.

Looking forward to a weekend of getting our lawn together (looks like a jungle right now. legit mowed the lawn, went away for a week and came back to weeds/grass mid calf high!), my plants in soil outside, and the final pieces of the gate up!

Will share some pics from the wine and cheese even since I know where those are and because they're so pretty!

the full spread. the italian meats were also from TJs. Obviously i have no idea how it was but it was pretty lol.

full spread

pesto gouda cheese. in the background i had bought a log of goat cheese and rolled half in italian herbs and the second is topped with crushed oats and drizzled with honey. that one was really good! i also infused olive oil with jalapenos (to the right of the blue bottle).

drunken goat cheese in the middle there (was very good). the olive oil pictured there was inflused with garlic and herbs.

melanie killed her arm cutting day old baguette and then baked to make those crostinis.

variety of spanish cheeses. the manchego was really good. these actually come from TJs as a variety pack. what's really cool (and we didn't discover this until later in the evening) is that the chunks are pre-sliced into 4 thin slices and then stacked to make the triangle!

pears and this crazy awesome quince fruit spread we got from a really neat wine and cheese store named Red White and Bleu in Fairfax.

not a lot of people drank the white wines but i tasted them and they were pretty good
