Tonight i decided to change up the only salad dinner routine. I made some shredded chicken, topped with the tiniest bit of buffalo dressing and made a buffalo chicken salad and a buffalo chicken taco.
Sketchy had a little more appetizing meal. All the taco things:
spicy jack daniels bbq chicken taco and buffalo chicken taco.
Tonight's wedding talk is on decorations. We've been working with the wedding coordinator for quite some time now to nail down exactly what we want for our brown ceremony and reception. Planning via e-mail is really difficult. It's easy in that we can send pictures of everything we'd like to see, but it's tough not sitting down face to face and looking through books/pictures together. We did meet with Alisha (wedding coordinator) when we were in Florida in Sept. She's super sweet and seems to have great vision. Also she's very good with responding to e-mails and being helpful in general. We're doing our flowers, uplighting and general decor with Alisha's design company.
For indian ceremony, we've decided on gold and maroon for the main colors of the decor. The decorations for the indian ceremony are going to be minimal. Just the items above since it's in a temple and we can't hang items or put chairs in there or anything!
draping like this and actually really like the gold sheer material. Told Alisha maroon and gold draping on the mandap would be good. the one thing we definitely wanted was floral aspect tying back the draping.
we agreed on three trumpet style vases on each side of the aisle leading up to the mandap. there will be rich red and gold swag between the trumpet vases similar to the picture above.
then down the aisle we'll have a floral design like this. colors and flowers and design are left up to alisha!
Now, the fun stuff -- reception!
the walkway into the venue will be lined with these tiki torches. They'll really be pretty once the sunsets.
cocktail tables will look as close to this as possible. this color table linen with nautical rope tying it like this but there will be a silver lantern in the middle instead of flowers.
I've sent bouquets of stargazer lillies (the cascading one that was on the bridal party blog post) and this bouquet:
i love this cream color and the vintage aspect of it. Think it'll go well with the lace/pearl aspect of the theme. alisha said she'll try to combine the two bouquet ideas to form something suitable!
The tables will be pretty simple with pieces of driftwood, votives, a single black or silver lantern and small chalkboard with table number at the center.
table inspiration pictures
the chalkboards that will have the table numbers (maybe a fun fact or something else on there too)
we'll have quite a few white lanterns throughout the pavilion roof. hopefully it makes the area lighter and brighter.
in addtion, alisha is going to do a grid situation above the sweetheart table (which i think will be amazing for pictures) that will have the lanterns but also vintage/beachy floral pieces draping similar to what you see above. i'm super excited to see how this in particular turns out.
We'll be at a banquet seating white love seat behind a half table and will have two rounds of the groomsmen and bridesmaid to the right and left of us on the elevated platform area (not quite a stage)
we're hoping to have votives like these in the shape of our initials on the sand area where people walk in.
the cake doesn't exactly have a spot yet, will have to figure that out with the vendors the friday before the wedding when we meet and talk layout. but this is what the cake presentation will look like! a blog post will be dedicated to just cake which i think is going to be our most simple item.
There are a few more little odds and ends but generally this is how i'm communicating with our wedding coordinator -- photos.
For the most part, I've got a lot of faith that items can look like this. On the other hand, i'm terrified not knowing how things will turn out!
