Kris Turns 30 and Gets Crabs

May 26 -31

Sunday was categorized by a very quick dress shopping event in which the bridesmaid's dress was chosen and then running some folks to the airport.

Here's the official dress and color:

I think it'll look really good with the beachy theme. it also seemed to flatter all figures.

The latter half of Sunday was spent hanging out at the house with family until folks started heading out. After some rest, sketchy and I headed down to Fredericksburg to drop Sapna off and to see his aunts for a bit who were still in town. We got home around midnight - 1am Sunday. Anup, Kerry, Navin and Kris were sticking around until around Tuesday. Mo and Matt went to NYC for a concern on Sunday and were supposed to return at some point. Navin, Anup, Kerry and Kris were all passed out when we got back from Fburg.

Monday morning we woke up after a nice night of sleep and had some mimosas and beers. After morning drinks, we headed out to a nearby diner for lunch which was really good! We ended up getting kris a surprise slice of bday cake and then headed out towards the Chesapeake Bay in search of a boat for deep sea fishing. Noura and susan were still around at this point. Kris turns 30 on June 1 so we wanted to do something special to celebrate since the engagement got in the way of doing something bigger and better!

We ended up realizing that deep sea fishing should occur earlier in the morning AND should be planned ahead of time. Note taken. Will have that figured out the next time the boys are up here and maybe we can actually go deep sea fishing. So instead, we had two coolers of beers, solo cups and a lot of time on our hands. We found a family friendly park, grabbed a picnic table and played silent king of the hill and flip cup. The weather was great and the company was good.

Sapna sent navin a selfie flicking him off. so we responded with this. one of my fav selfies of the weekend.

After we killed the majority of the beer, we headed towards baltimore to drop noura off for her flight. After dropping noura off, we found a nice seafood restaurant on the harbor. We ended up at Bo Brooks after a few restaurants were OUT OF CRAB (how does that happen?!)

The dinner was DELICIOUS. There were some other appetizers and such not pictured. It was quite the feast. Want to go back soon.

wished we had gotten there earlier -- it's pretty there.

crazy chicken topped with some lobster thing and baked potato

lobster and shrimp sandwich thing

sketchy's anti seafood regular burger

a dozen blue shell crabs!!!

After dinner, Sketchy and Susan headed back home to sleep (he had work really early) and me, kris, kerry, navin and anup headed to Maryland Live Casinos. That place is amazing. We stayed there until around 3am when Mo met up in the parking garage, grabbed anup and headed on their way to Florida. We headed back to the city in search of food. Much to Kris's dismay, everything was closed at three. We ended up with, i don't even know what, but went home.

Note to self: Maryland Live Casino is only about 35 minutes from my house. Way too close for comfort!

Tuesday Sketchy ended up taking the day off. we grabbed a quick lunch at vapianos to introduce the boys to the place. Then they headed to the airport and me and sketchy relaxed the rest of the day not caring about the mess in the house.

Wednesday Brenna came over and we made our first grill dinner! We then grilled for the next four days in a row lol. We made shishkabobs! We watched the season finale of Law & Order SVU which seemed to get Brenna hooked again, good cliff hanger. Anger that we have to wait til next season to see what happens. sigh. Brenna also brought over our engagement present which was incredible! Will share this soon -- want to write about it once it's all set-up and I have good pictures.

For now here's dinner pictures:

Thursday is so blurry in my brain but it consisted of cleaning and sleeping. Lots of sleeping. I did get around to start putting the presents together and opening them slowly. Formal Thank you cards to come!

Friday sketchy surprised me by asking for a date night. we did dinner and saw Now You See Me. Good movie. Good night. So excited for a relaxing weekend of nothingness.

A Day Remembered, an Evening Forgotten 05.25.13

This post is dedicated solely to Saturday, May 25, 2013.

Saturday was the engagement. It happened. I'm glad it's over and I thought everything was really pretty and perfect. Here are some pictures:

the ever so handsome groom-to-be. I love love love the picture on the right of him.

sketchy and my smiles (as you can see) were pretty tired and done by this point. Not sure which one i like best here. Thoughts? I think i like the one on the left. Want to get one of these blown up and printed for wall.

Sketchy's new mom and dad and siblings. lol

This one came out really cute.

Brenna (MOH) and AJ (Best Man) -- These two gave great speeches.

These two made Sketchy and me very proud. Sapna and Kris gave ridiculously amazing speeches... both of which caused me to cry my ass off.

Me and Kris. Really wish i had gotten one good picture with sapna after all that she did all week and because she looked so so pretty!

Family picture

my grandmother. she was so lively the whole weekend. meant a lot to me for her to see my home in Virginia and for her to enjoy herself!

Anjali gave a surprise (and beyond incredible) speech

she was so brave!

So one of my favorite parts of the ceremony was when my family decided to start taking "selfies" with me and sketchy in the background. Then when they started taking group selfies it became a party. I like that they brought some lighthearted happiness to the day!

this is one of my favorite pictures just to see all the natural laughs/smiles

we're still missing some cousins in this picture but for the most part we got a good chunk!

one of my favs.

Then we moved on to the BBQ which was 10x more successful than I thought it'd be. With the yard in a state of disaster and in the midst of make-over we had very little to work with. Thank you to my cousins who ran out and bought all the beer, chips, food and everything else to make the party amazing.

brown vs. white flip cup. there's a great selfie shot with this background, but i chose to leave that out in leu of the next photo.

i liked the picture OF rovi taking the selfie. lol

=)

=)

There was food and other things i promise. Just not pictured. I started to finally chill out mid-way through the bbq! Thanks to the family that did come out and celebrate with us even if just to stop by.

and so ended the bbq and so started the DC afterparty!

we ended up at Rumours. Varsha looks dead. Everyone else looks happy.

Me and the Patels. Hetal the only patel to make it out after much coercion.

Kerry's drunk sign. Baltimore fan looks like he's taking a liking to Kris in the background.

Navin and Kristen having fun while Varsha and Mo really feel that music

lots of dancing. all i've ever wanted =) Creeper james in the back.

more dancing

the best. =)

While the youngins and wild ones were out partying. The party bus took the aunts and others out to enjoy a midnight monument tour! They seemed to have made quite a few stops and had fun. success.

And then...

there was the morning after, when everyone woke up on the same couch. all 1003902 people. Such a perfect end to a perfect weekend.

Thank you again to all my friends and family who helped with any and everything to make Saturday one of the best days of my life. Hopefully created some good memories (or lack thereof) for you guys too!
